Aesthetic Dermatology Clinic Redefining Skin Health
PDO Thread Lifting
A non-invasive treatment to help with loose and sagging skin. Uses absorbable surgical sutures composed of polydioxanone (PDO).
What is a Thread Lift?
A Thread Lift is a cosmetic facial rejuvenation procedure using FDA Approved polydioxanone (PDO Threads) sutures, (used safely for decades in surgery) to lift, tighten, firm, and smooth your skin.
PDO Threads perform lifting and volumizing by generating new collagen and enabling your skin care professional to lift and mold sagging skin into a more youthful position.
The results are instant, improve with time, can last for years, leave no scars, and best of all they are a true “injectable” and a wonderful alternative, (or adjunct) to surgical procedures as well as other skin rejuvenation treatments.
Thread Lifts are the latest facial rejuvenation treatment and one of the hottest trends in cosmetic surgery. It’s the perfect choice if you are looking for instant results, with little to no downtime.
In about an hour, your face will look instantly better with no scars and long-lasting results.
How Do They Work?
PDO Threads stimulate your body to build collagen in the area where the thread is placed. Over a few months, the thread is absorbed by the body, but the collagen produced remains in place providing volume and lift that last and last!
Your Pure Aesthetics injector will select the right combination of threads, which are then carefully placed; either directionally to mold and lift sagging skin, or in a cross-hatch pattern to provide a strong infrastructure for skin improvement. This fights the visible signs of aging in two ways:
-
Immediate lifting: Fine lines and wrinkles are immediately lifted and smoothed for rejuvenation that you can see right away!
-
Increased collagen: Over a few months, the skin’s healing response produces younger, fresher collagen around the sutures for stronger, firmer, more flexible skin that looks younger and smoother even after the threads are absorbed safely by the body.
The Procedure
During the treatment, a preloaded needle is inserted into the skin (on the face or body). Your injector then leaves the thread beneath the skin when she removes the needle. Your skin gently reacts to the threads and begins repairing itself around the suture. The threads can be expertly placed to stimulate collagen in areas of volume loss or fill a fold, and also can be placed to pull and tighten the skin, such as that of the neck or brows. Over the next 4-6 months, your skin fully absorbs the threads but and they won’t leave behind scar tissue. As the thread is breaking down your body is producing collagen and essentially taking the thread's place giving you results that typically last about a year and sometimes up to 2 years.
